BOOK REVIEW: Have you ever woken up from a dream or nightmare and thought WTF just happened? Were you a fan of Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark as a kid (are we best friends now...)? If so, you will love this book. Each and every story either left me thinking something. The reoccurring thoughts were, "What the hell did I just read?" and "What the f**k just happened?" and "I have no clue what I just read." I would be creeped out or confused and thought...huh...this is exactly what I think when I wake up from weird dreams and nightmares! The author nailed that WTF factor in my book!
This is a 5 star read for me. Are there creepy aspects? Yes. Are there some squeamish parts? Yes (I'm looking at you Heads or Tails). My two favorite stories are 'The Cat' and 'Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep'. This is the author's debut book and I have to say that I can't wait to see what she comes out with next. Definitely a fan right here! She had me at the fact that these stories came from her own nightmares and now I'm even more curious about these stories! This book officially comes out on 10.31.24 and it's a short/quick read just in time for Halloween!
