My Mommy Is Coming To Town

I am very close to my mom. We talk almost every day, sometimes multiple times a day, and FaceTime multiple times a week! We've been talking about her coming out to visit for awhile now. Originally we were looking at October. Even told my husband that he had better sure he can make his weigh-in (that happen every April and October in the Coast Guard) as early in the month as possible so that he doesn't have to worry about not eating my mom's cooking, which he loves.

Side note...do you know how many times so far in that one tiny paragraph I had to refrain from using an exclamation point...at the end of every sentence...yes...every one!

October came and decided to drop the Rona onto their house. Both my mom and stepdad got it and were down for almost 2 weeks. That meant that some of my mom's work trips were rearranged and these were meetings she had to attend in person. Next thing we know we're talking about possibly having her for Thanksgiving. Really glad we passed on that since I was sick just before then! We were thinking of her flying in on Tuesday or Wednesday and staying for the rest of the week and flying back Sunday or Monday. I said that would be fun but too bad she would miss out on the cookie party that was the weekend after Thanksgiving.

We then decided December 1st would be the day she flies out for her visit. Just in time for the cookie party on the 2nd! I was also able to "twist her arm" to stay an extra day because the day she was originally going to head home, my daughter has early dismissal from school which means some extra cuddles with grandma if she stayed. Then we started daydreaming about having a winter storm hit like the night before she is supposed to leave and her flight gets cancelled...oh what a bummer that would be to have to stay a little longer.

I love my mom. I love getting to spend time with her. This is her 3rd or 4th trip out here (maybe 5th) and it will only be the 2nd time that I've gotten to spend any time with her. The last few times she has been here I was working so she stayed home with my daughter and I worked. I bawled my eyes out when she arrived because I miss her so much and then I bawled my eyes out dropping her off at the airport because I barely got to see her. This time I get to spend all the days with her! I'm so excited that she's coming!

There really was no other reason for sharing this other than because I am so excited for her to get here. By the time this posts, she will be halfway through her trip here and I can't wait to share with y'all what we do while she is here!
